Scholarships

Class of 2013:

Scholarship applications continue to pour into our office. Dr. Vaughan has been updating the scholarship list every Monday. Check the list out online here or come into Guidance. If you haven't visited the purple scholarship box yet, just ask Mrs. O when you come to Guidance, she'll point you in the right direction (down the hall and to the left!). Here's a time saving tip for the application process: read the scholarship listing before you grab the applications (there is one hanging above the box). Dr. Vaughan has outlined the eligibility criteria per scholarship in bullet format (by gender, ethnicity, GPA, etc.). Make sure you are eligible for the scholarship AND you can complete the application for submission by the deadline before selecting an application. Otherwise, you'll grab one copy of each, bring them home, read them all and find out you are only eligible for half of them. Then you'll trash the ones you aren't eligible for, plus a couple that you realize are due tomorrow, and you'll be feeling a bit frustrated and wondering why you ignored the aforementioned tip.

After all the hard work of applying for scholarships pays off and you receive letters of congratulations, let us know! We want to help celebrate your achievements. Bring your scholarship award letters into our office and we'll make a copy for our records. Then at graduation, when you're donning your cap and gown and about to burst with excitement and pride, your name will be called and following it will be the names of all the scholarships that you have been awarded. Imagine your mother's joy, your father's pride, your auntie's camera flash-flash-flashing, grandma's grin.....
